April is...DISTRACTED DRIVING AWARENESS MONTH.

Distracted Driving continues to be an issue with the increased usage of mobile devices while on the road, and that isn't the only distraction causing the many accidents and tragedies that are constantly making headlines. Eating, changing radio stations, grooming yourself, etc., are all things that can easily prevent your focus from fully being where it needs to be- on the road and on your surroundings.

For the duration of the month, we'll be posting up different tips on practicing the utmost safety while on the road.  Here's tip #1:

Deadline to Have Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Card) Submitted to Motor Vehicle Agency is January 30, 2014

As of January 30, 2012 it is required for all CDL holders to provide a copy of their Medical Examiner’s Certificate (also known as a DOT card), as well as provide the type of commercial motor vehicle operation they drive in (or expect to drive in).  This information must be submitted to your state’s respective motor vehicle agency by no later than January 30, 2014.

I graduated your school during the summer of 2012 and landed a local driving job immediately and haven't looked back since. My life is back on track after being laid off in early 2012 and I'm on target to make over $75,000 this year. Again, thank you for the new skill. I just learned that truck drivers are more in the demand than ever as rules, laws, and regulations get more challenging, along with the next generation of truck drivers starting to retire creating a big hole in the industry.
