Increased Incentives to Alleviate Driver Shortage
As the economy improves, the demand for commercial truck drivers increases. A lot of trucking companies are getting on board with increasing their driver pay and incentives.
Most trucking companies offer major benefits to their employees. These benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance and retirement plans. Holiday, sick time and vacation time are also a part of most companies’ incentive offerings.
The great news for new drivers and those on the verge of beginning a CDL program is that these already great benefits offered are being raised. Some of the major carrier companies have already announced these increases such as Swift Transportation, U.S. Xpress Enterprises, Con-Way Truckload and Transport America.
