Press Release

Hammonton, NJ, August 4, 2015:  Smith & Solomon Commercial Driver Training has recently opened a new campus in Hammonton, NJ.  These efforts are fueled by the need to alleviate the job loss devastation Atlantic City has undergone just last year.

In December of 2014, New Jersey was at the halfway point of recovering the near 258,000 jobs lost from 2008 to 2011.  In 2014, another 10,000 plus jobs were lost due to the closing of five casino properties in Atlantic City.  Although the nation climbs to economic recovery and is doing well as a whole, the Atlantic City occurrence has the state of New Jersey lagging behind with job growth numbers remaining at an all-time low*.

Smith & Solomon is a leading commercial driver training provider in the Northeast U.S. for over 30 years and intends to offer their training programs in the immediate Atlantic City area to those left without work due to this devastation.  There have been 170,000 jobs added within the trucking industry year-to-date, consisting of both driving and non-driving positions, most that require a commercial driver’s license.  The turnaround time from enrollment to graduation varies between 4 and 12 weeks. Upon graduation, an individual may begin their career immediately after, earning approximately $38,000 and as much as $60,000 their first year**.

Smith & Solomon is a trade school offering convenient payments options, as well as accepting New Jersey unemployment benefits and Post 911 GI Bill funding.  The new campus is conveniently located off of exit 28 on the Atlantic City Expressway, and less than 1.5 miles off of U.S. Route 30 and NJ Route 54.

Smith Solomon is one of the largest commercial truck driver training schools in the country. In addition to training, Smith Solomon has placed over 35,000 graduates in family sustaining careers in trucking and warehousing positions.

I graduated your school during the summer of 2012 and landed a local driving job immediately and haven't looked back since. My life is back on track after being laid off in early 2012 and I'm on target to make over $75,000 this year. Again, thank you for the new skill. I just learned that truck drivers are more in the demand than ever as rules, laws, and regulations get more challenging, along with the next generation of truck drivers starting to retire creating a big hole in the industry.

Thank you All for Everything
