Truckers and Hobbies on the Open Road

Friday, March 27, 2015

For over the road and regional truck drivers most of their time is spent in their truck away from home. What’s great about that is the hobbies that you may not have had time for before becoming a truck driver can be now.  Some truckers prefer to use their time to catch up on rest, but there are a significant amount of those who take up a variety of hobbies such as:

  • Exercising.

  • Reading (bringing a hardcopy of a book or on audiobook).

  • Listening to Music.

  • Watching a movie or favorite television series on apps such as Netflix and Hulu.

  • Photography (with all of the amazing places to pass through, there will be sites to capture on camera).

  • Keep up with your fantasy sports team, play games, etc. using a smart tablet.

  • Knitting/Crocheting (this has become very popular, and not just for our lady truckers).

Choosing positive recreational activities can impact both physical and mental health, and is recommended to improve overall driver wellness.
